Ramesh Lekhak claims party gaining increasing public support

Kathmandu,May 11: Nepali Congress leader and party’s publicity sub-committee coordinator Ramesh Lekhak has claimed that the party was gaining an increasing public support for the upcoming local-level election which is scheduled to be held in two phases – May 14 and June 14.
Speaking at a press meet organised by the subcommittee at the party central office, Sanepa today, he said the party had the projection that it would win the election in all municipalities. “The party is likely to get a victory in 60-70 percent of local levels.”
He further added that ” The constitution was promulgated under the party leadership and its leadership is needed while implementing it (constitution).”
Responding to a query from media about the possibility the party’s alliance with the Madhes-centric election in the second-round election, he said such alliance was possible with the political parties in favour of the constitution enforcement and agreed with the gist of the constitution as per the local need.
He took the opportunity to claim that a new government under the party leadership would be formed soon through an understating of the existing ruling alliance. RSS
